Madoc Township, just north of Madoc village and Centre Hastings, is home to Ontario’s first Goldmine! In 1866 the farm of John Richardson, Eldorado, became the most sought after property as the Eldorado Goldrush began. Madoc Township is also home to O’Hara Mill Homestead, a popular pioneer village and conservation area just north of the village of Madoc.
There is a lot to see and do while visiting Madoc, Centre Hastings and surrounding areas. Madoc’s unique downtown is a riverside community nestled along Deer Creek and just north of Moira Lake. Moira Lake is a popular spot for residents and visitors for Muskie, Bass and Pickerel fishing. We have a diverse retail community with antiques, clothing boutiques, gift shops, groceries, furniture, and personal needs, enhanced by well-known one-of-a-kind eateries.
Our Skate-park is an experience to be enjoyed by kids of all ages!
